NTC Chapter Background and Purpose

The North Texas Chapter of the International Code Council is a non-profit organization serving the Code Official and the building industry.  Founded in the early 70’s, it has served as a forum for local Building Officials and Inspectors to share information and network on a variety of building code related issues promoting the safety of our built environment.Today, our organization is represented by several municipal jurisdictions and private industry.

The Chapter’s objective is to develop, recommend, and promote uniform regulations and legislation pertaining to building code construction, to encourage uniformity in zoning practice and code interpretation, and to promote the professionalism of the Code Official.

We fully support the activities of the International Code Council and continue to encourage and maintain building regulations on a local level through quality training and job knowledge. Chapter members remain involved with the Building Professionals Institute, the Building Officials Association of Texas (BOAT), the ICC Code Development Forum, the Construction Research Center at UTA, and The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) among a few of the organizations in our construction industry.

North Texas Chapter members place the public welfare above all other interests and apply the special knowledge and skills of the Code Official for the benefit of all mankind.
